Roggers Rally Race

Rogers Rally Race entry opens today!
Signup for the August 21 2022 event.

Enjoy navigating 260km through the Tillamook State forest on 2 wheels or 4.

What to expect

A comfortable pace will take a rider 6 hours plus the transit to the start line near the Rogers Camp Trailhead off of Oregon Highway 6 and the return transit from The Logger off of Oregon Highway 30. This is an all day event. All of the course is open to the public so navigate in such a way that you will not pose a danger to yourself or others.

You will be navigating using road book directions provided as a PDF. You will not get a GPS track to follow. Much of the course does not have cell phone reception so come with satellite based messengers / trackers like Garmin Inreach or Spot. If you get lost, maps that work offline will help you get back to civilization. There are several road book readers like Rally Navigator that can use your mobile GPS to run an adjustable odometer. In cars, you can scroll the road book and update the odometer directly on your devices's screen but physical buttons are much easier to use with gloves on motorcycles. Rally Navigator can be operated by Bluetooth audio buttons.

Course and road book.

There are no prizes, no entry fees. No one is coming to get you, expect to self rescue.

The course

The  265km course is mostly gravel using forest service and logging roads in northwest Oregon. There is 42km of transit along Highway 6, 26 and 202 so all vehicles need to be street legal. A standard clearance passenger car should be able to complete the course but there are many sections where 4WD and higher clearance will make things easier. The same can be said about tires. All season tires should work but tougher tires will prevent punctures and reduce the chance of getting stuck.

What you will see

Northwest Oregon's rivers, lakes, ridges, and mountains.
